DESCRIPTION: Found near the leaf base these galls are the sexual generation of a gall wasp and appear when the leaves begin to open and therefore cause considerable distortion in the growth pattern. Within each growth there is an egg-shaped gall which houses the young insect. The curved leaf galls are found on the midrib, blade or petiole. DISTRIBUTION: Common throughout the country. Best seen April to August. HABITAT: On Oak leaves.
